Seeing as it's almost 2012, it seems appropriate that we'd start hearing more about next year's tentpole movies.

Up first is the new poster for sure-to-be-blockbuster "The Amazing Spider-Man," which features new Spidey Andrew Garfield ready for some bad guy action while casting an arachnid-shaped shadow below.

To be honest, we would've enjoyed just a little more color on the poster. Not even the teensiest bit of red in the main poster design? Only in the release date? We're excited for this prequel/reboot of the "Spider-Man" movie franchise, but this poster makes things look kind of bleak. Andrew Garfield is way too handsome for such greyness.

What do you think of the poster? Are you excited for the movie?

Jamie Bell isn’t bitter about losing out to Andrew Garfield for the role of Spider-Man because he believes Garfield is the right man for the job. The 25-year-old Billy Elliot star failed at his screen test for the coveted role of Peter Parker, but admitted that he struggled to identify with the superhero. "I've never felt particularly connected to Peter Parker, (so) I felt like they made the right decision. I actually can't wait to see the movie - I think it's going to be great," he told GQ magazine. "My favourite superhero is obviously Batman because he's the sexiest. But I can't imagine myself as Batman."
